Eastwick SNSC Extension & Refurbishment

Eastwick SNSC Extension & Refurbishment

Client Brief

As part of Surrey County Council’s push to improve provision at their Schools for children with Special Needs, they embarked on a programme of expansion and improvement of their existing Special Educational Needs (SEN) Units. Eastwick School approached MHA to undertake a feasibility study and won funding for an extensive overhaul of their facilities to provide a new Special Needs Support Centre (SNSC).

Key Issues

  • Out-dated and ill equipped SEN equipment
  • Works to be completed by September 2012
  • Congested & tight shared school site

What We Did

MHA undertook a thorough investigation of the site and proposed the construction of a new classroom to free up further space adjacent to the new SNSC. This allowed for the provision of 2 full size classrooms, a group room, specialist WC and welfare facilities together with sensory and therapy rooms.

Completion of the scheme successfully took place ready for the September new intake.

“MHA have been great guiding us through our first major build process. Progress has been monitored throughout and the project was completed on time.”
